Climate Kids engages a new audience at Mission Bay High School

In November, Climate Science Alliance staff and partners shared the story of climate change with high school students at Mission Bay High School (MBHS). Climate Kids Ambassadors-MBHS was launched through a new partnership with key leaders, including Principal Ernest Remillard and science teacher, Steve Walters. In collaboration with partners Stay Cool, San Diego Coastkeeper, and Nos de Chita, we hosted a weeklong series of events where we engaged over 1,100 high school students.

Through thought-provoking presentations, hands-on science, and performing arts focused on climate change themes students learned about climate change impacts on natural resources and what they can do to help.

Mirroring the approach from Climate Kids-Mexico, these students are being trained to be part of the Climate Kids program at Pacific Beach Elementary school in 2017.
